Problem:
Aggressive high pressing from out of possession team
Solution:
Find quick passes to escape pressure and find a quick switchCreate overloads
Commit opposition players
Targets:
1 point for regaining possession within 5 seconds of losing it (If needed for intensity)
1 point for switching play from one side to the other (green to green)
3 points for switching play in under 3 passes
Conditions:
Must play from one green to the other to transition to other side of the pitch
All players must transition within 3 seconds
Defending team must play to opposite green to transition
Play below waist height
One defender rests on halfway line for 5 seconds before switching (If needed for overloads)
Challenges:
Can we combine 1 touch?
Can we switch in under 3 passes?
Can we create a diamond to maximise space?
Blocks:
4 x 3 minute blocks (4 minutes if intensity stays high)
Interventions:
Pre block 1: Transition introduction
Post block 1: Height width and depth as a question, team discussion
Post block 2: Diamond in transition (First 2 players arrive and go wide, last 2 one floats one is the point)
Post block 3: Receiving the ball under pressure or to play into space (Safe foot, back foot)
Post block 4: Review of transitions and receiving techniques
