Build up, crossing, finishing practice.
Mark out a square area outside 18 yard box and 2 channels, as shown. 2 mannequins occupy the wide channels.
Blues attacking, Reds defending.
Play starts with CB who plays the ball into the 2v2 in the shaded box.
The aim for the Blue CM players in the box is to get the ball wide to one of the wingers. How they do this may depend on the starting position of the winger in relation to his marker (in front the mannequin, beyond the mannequin, dropped off from the mannequin etc)
The CB is also there for support.
The winger can either beat the mannequin, run beyond the mannequin or combine with CM or CB (1-2). Maybe switch play?
Can the winger find a way to get beyond the mannequin and cross a ball into the box?
Where is the best place to cross the ball from?
Can the winger on the opposite flank make a late run into the box?
Can the CM make a run into the box?
If the defenders win the ball, can they play it out to one of the coaches?
Progression:
Replace the mannequins with defenders.
