Using the Sole roll/step over to beat a defender Edgemont U8/9 clinic

Organization:
Players dribble to the cone 'defenders', preform the Roll/Stepover combo move, and dribble to the other side. Grids approximately 30x15.
Instructions:
Players have a ball and dribble to the cone 'defender' (1). Once there, they must preform the sole roll/step over combo before dribbling to other side.
Coaching Points:
* Correct technique in the step over/sole roll
* Body movement to sell the move
* Finish the move on the same side as the ball is traveling
Progressions:
1) Have the players play to gates (B) 1v1. Game starts on eye contact and attackers first touch of the ball.

Organization:
As above. Grid approximatly 30x30 with pugg goals at each end. 3v3 in the middle of the grid.
Instructions:
Players play soccer, but may only move the ball forward on the field with dribbles. Players can only pass backward and sideways to move up field. Each goal is 1 point.
Coaching Points:
* Where is the space? How can you get to it?
* Does teammate have space to dribble? If not, need to be there for support
* Eyes up with ball at feet

1) Free play, no restrictions

Instructions:
Players dribble in the area after listening to coaches command. Coach will use a variety of touches and different dribbling techniques:
-Inside touches
-Outside touches
-Strong/weak foot touches
-Soll roll touches
-Laces touches
-Introduce stepover touches
-Introduce roll/step combo
Coaching Points:
* Qaulity touches on the ball
* Eyes up after every touch to watch out for other players
* Short 'Messi' touches to keep the ball close, big 'Ronaldo' touches to push the ball into space to go faster
Progressions:
1) Knockout in the same area (players must control their ball while trying to knock other players balls out of the area with poke tackles
