Description
Basic game to encourage dribbling ..... Red starts has to dribble around the blue defender and through the goal they then move onto the pitch next to them and do the same time time they have two goals to aim for.
Players could use it has a warm up first ie without a ball a version of tag so they get used to the game before bringing a ball in play.
Progressions:
Give the defender a ball aswell to look after this helps the attacker to judge the weight of his touch when dribbling.
Take the ball away from the Defender to make the session harder for the attacker.
Add a 'magic man' (green) who can either become an attacker in the left hand game thus creating a 2v1 attacking game or he can join the other game and makes it a 1v2 where the attacker has to use everything in his locker to get past the two defenders
Rotate the defenders/attackers and magic man as often as possible
Keep the attacking tempo very fast, encourage the use to tricks and skills to get pass the defender and ask the attacker for a burst of pace after getting pass the defender.
How creative can the attackers be?
What can the defender do to slow the attacker down?
This simple game helps build up confidence,footwork,awareness,co-ordination with small Interference and covers most of the basic attacking and defending principles.
