SAQ Warm Up AJ (10 mins)

SAQ Warm Up

Any number of players split into two groups, 2 sets of ladders or small cones and 4 tall cones.

Players stop once they get back to the line they started at.

Both groups go at the same time, they start with high knees through the ladder (alternate feet in each ladder) then side steps to the back of the opposite line and then repeat till they get back to where they started.

Instead of high knees you could do:

Bunny hops, two feet together in each ladder

Fast feet, left foot then right foot in each ladder

Slalom, side to side in and out of the ladder

Instead of side to sides you could do:

Heel flicks (Bum Kicks)


Calf Walk - Players walk on the balls of their feet and stretch arms up to the sky.

Technical Points:

We are not looking for quantity, we are looking for quality. Make sure players are doing it right - low to the ground when doing slalom's, on their toes when doing high knees, making sure feet are together for bunny hiops and getting players to use their arms to propel themselves (like a long jumper/sprinter).
