Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): S3A - Striking & Finishing (Start Time: 2024-01-09 18:00:00)

Shooting Bingo Warm up (15 mins)

Organization:

• 2 teams and give a number to each player 
• Setup a Field with two goals and an area in the middle with all players having a ball each and given a number each.

Instructions 

•  Players dribble around the area and once their number is called by the coach, they have to leave their area and score in one of the goals. 
• Once they have had their shot, they get their ball and return into the box ready for their number to be called again. To ensure the players have plenty of repetition make the area small and call multiple numbers at once. 
• To add competition, set up the game to be based around the first player to score with their inside, outside and laces on both feet to win!

Progressions 

• Add a defender in front of each of the goals that can win the ball and prevent the attacker from being able to score

Coaching Points 

Introduction of strike (do not over coach just let the game flow and correct the technique throughout the session.)-

Skill execution 

• Laces
• Planting non kicking foot next to the ball
•  ankle Locked
•  look at the target 
• body over the ball 
• look for player to shoot quickly ( Encourage players to create shooting opportunities and take shots on goal)

Shooting 1(Messi, Rodman). Using the outside of the foot to take a touch the opposite side of the goal before using the inside to finish across the goal to the opposite side

Shooting 2 (M'bappe, Press). using inside foot opening the hips using the same foot on the same side as the pug your finishing in. eg right foot into the right pug

Shooting  3(Ronaldo, Morgan) using a feint and quick touch before using the instep to drill the ball low and hard into the corner same side as the touch.

Shooting 1v1 (15 mins)

Organization;

• Setup a field with two halves with goal either side 
• two team 
• ball will be server by the side 

• When coach call that number player enter the field and coach pass the ball
• Players play 1v1 until someone score 

• If a player misses the goal they must go and fetch their ball whilst the game continues with another ball 
• Once a goal has been scored or time has run out players have to return to their teams an
• Player can only score by shooting in their own half
