6v6+6 rondo - counter attacking SSG (20 mins)
Organisation:
Same size area but just 3 goals added in
Set up:
One team will be nominated as the out of possession team and trying to score in the mini goals upon winning possession back.
The in possession teams work together and just look to keep possession
Coaching points:
- Counter press aggressive
- Find the overload
- Look after the ball
Time:
6x2.5 min blocks - defending team rotate at the end of each block
Progressions:
All teams are now nominated a goal each. When the defending team win possession back, They must attack any goal apart from their own. If they score, which ever team's goal they score in, that team loses a point and the team that scored it gains a point

7v7+4 directioal high pressing SSG (25 mins)
Organisation:
- 52x30yd area (Two 20x30 yard areas and a 12x30 yard area
- 4 mini goals
- 1 ball
- 2 teams of 7 and 1 team of 4 (floating players)
Set up:
One team is trying to build out and score in the opposing two mini goals and the other team is trying to win the ball high up the pitch and counter attack instantly
2 floating players are encouraged to play in the midfield channel and 2 defenders are also encouraged to defend in this area.
Conditions:
- Offside rule applies
- 1 goal awarded if scored from the defensive zone, 2 points if scored from the midfield zone, 3 points if scored from the final third
Coaching points:
- Timing of runs in behind
- Vertical combination play
- Counter press aggressive
- First pass/shot forward when regaining possession
- Attacking runs/third man options
- High pressing forward defending

Passing & receiving warm up (15 mins)
Organisation:
- 60x60 yd hexagon shape pitch.
- 3 teams of 6
- 3 balls
Set up:
Passing and receiving exercise. Yellow player must receive the ball from a red and then play it to a blue.
Must listen to coaches command - last one out to a pole, last one to a colour cone, groups of 3 etc.
Progressions:
Only play to own colour
Point scoring:
Last player to make their way in loses a point for their team.
