Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Turning Under Pressure

Skill Intro (10 mins)

30m diameter circle, 4 players in circle, 7 players on outside of the circle, 4 with balls. Players on inside receive pass from players on the outside, turn with the ball, then pass to a free player on the outside of the circle

Skill Training (30 mins)

Set up a playing area 20 x 20. Split players in 3 groups to start the game attackers, defenders, servers. Play starts by the first server playing a pass into the first attacker. The attacker must receive the pass, attempt to turn the defender and score a point through one of the bottom goals.

The defender attempts to win the ball from the defender and scores a point by passing back to the server. After each attack the players swap roles - defender become attacker, attackers joins the servers and server joins the defenders line.
