set position : feet shoulder width apart ,knees bent, low stance, weight slightly forward on the balls of the feet, head steady with eyes up and hands relaxed and open with elbows bent

Function: Practice (15 mins) movement and positioning
Objective: To develop movement of the feet and body position to save
Organisation:
3 - 4 goalkeepers
5 x 5 yard small square marked out with cones, supply of balls
1 goalkeeper starts inside the square, with 3 goalkeepers as servers around the outside central in between two cones on three sides 10 yards away.
The goalkeepers starting as servers are numbered and on the coaches call the goalkeeper working inside the square must react quickly and get into position for a serve. The practice can be handling based, diving based or passing and receiving focused

Set position
body position - body behind the ball
movement - quick feet, small steps, eyes on the ball
handling - w catch, low scoop and soft hands to absorb
receiving a pass - open body, receive on the back foot
passing - plant standing foot, lock kicking ankle and punch through the pass

Function: Practice (15mins) Footwork and movement within the goal too readjust position
Objective: Develop footwork and ability to readjust position to make a save
Organisation:
3-4 goalkeepers
goal (age specific), supply of balls and cones
2 goalkeepers positioned 5 yards away from 2 cones,1 goalkeeper working in the goal and 1 goalkeeper waiting to rotate in,
The goalkeeper in goal will use quick feet to receive a ball for a volley pass then use quick feet to receive a second ball for a volley pass, after the two reps they must react quickly to get into position to receive a shot from the coach positioned on the edge of the box. Goalkeepers work for 5-6 reps each before changing position with the goalkeepers severing.

Function: Warm up (15 mins) Goalkeeper Set position and Handling Activation
Objective: Develop Goalkeepers handling and set position
Organisation:
8 to 10 keepers
Cones, supply of balls
one set of keepers positioned in-between cones with another set of keepers positioned directly across from them
one set keepers will start with the ball and throw or kick across to the keepers working between the cones
keepers receiving the ball will run to the cones and get into their set position before catching the ball
keepers will swap roles after 2 min rounds
