GM Moment: Defensive Transition
Principle: Press to force back – don’t allow space to shoot or drive
Sub-Principle: Instant mind shift from attacking behaviours to defensive behaviours
Practice Explanation: 24m x 16m grid (split into two 12m x 16m grids). 5v5 with 4v4 in the middle - with each team having one player at one particular end.
Attackers can operate in either half - defenders must defend in the half they are protecting. If you play your end guy must swap. Point for every time you win the ball.
Progression:
Only one defender can go back to defend the goal to make it a 5v3
2 points for every goal scored under 5 seconds from winning the ball

Practice Explanation: 24m x 16m grid (split into two 12m x 16m grids). Each grid is 3v2 - with the the 3 being in the half closest to teams goal. Teams looking to score in two mini goals. If the 2 players successfully transition into the higher grid - they can join but 2 defenders can go with to make it at MOST a 5v4 - 1 defender must stay in highest grid. Point for every goal score - point for forcing teams to lose the ball over the sidelines - point for every blocked shot. Attacking team only has 10 seconds to score a goal

Practice Explanation: 6 v 8 - 6 will always start with the ball from the GK. 6 are trying to originally score in the mini goals (shaped like wingers) which is positioned in a zone yellows can't enter. 8 players trying to win the ball and score as quickly as possible.
Point Scoring for the 6 players
1 point for a goal in the mini goal
2 points scored under 8 seconds
1 point for every throw in won
1 point for every blocked
1 point for holding the 8 players outside the box 10 seconds after transition
3 points for every ball WON back
2 points for pushing 8 back into the zone with goals
Point scoring for 8 -
2 points per goal
1 point per box entry in transition
If we have enough players we will have 2 attacking teams and rotate per transition
