Passing and receiving with additional emphasis on first touch in an effort to change the point of attack.

Organization
Set up a 20 x 25 yard playing area. Half of the players will be spread out, outside of the area with a ball, and the other half will be inside without a ball.
Activity
Players inside receive a pass from an outside player and pass to another server without a ball. Once complete, the inside players move to find another free server with a ball and repeats the process. Players will alternate between being passers and servers.
Variations
- Keep track on how many balls you receive and play outside. One point per reception and pass.
- Two points for any ball received and play to the opposite side of the field.
- Touch limit for the passer.

-Body shape to receive - "side on," on back foot.
-Accuracy and weight of pass.
-Get in line of the flight of the ball
-Watch the ball
-Make an early selection in the body surface to use
-Relax the controlling surface

Organization
In a 40 x 45 yard area, the teams will play 4 vs. 4 plus two neutral players.
Activity
Teams receive one point by connecting five passes in a row.
Variations:
-Teams will receive an additional point for each zone they pass or dribble through.
-Add target players on endlines and keep track on points for switches to nuetrals.

-Body shape to receive - "side on," on back foot.
-Accuracy and weight of pass.
-First touch away from pressure.
-Different ways to switch the point of attack. ie: long pass, short passes, combination, dribbling, etc.

Organization
In a 40 x 45 yard area, play 6 vs. 6 with a nuetral player.
Activity
Both teams will attack three goals and defend three goals.

7 vs. 7 with goalkeepers. One team will play a 1-3-2-1 and the other will play a 1-3-3 formation.
Activity
Regular soccer with regular rules and restarts. No restrictions.

Organization
Set up a 7 x 7 yard diamond (use muliple if needed). Each player stands at point of the diamond, with one ball starting a corner of the diamond.
Activity
Players pass the ball around the outside of the diamond then follow their pass. Play going to the right first (passing and receiving with right foot) then switch directions to go to the left (passing and receiving with left foot).
Progression
- Wall pass
- If applicable add a second ball with the balls starting on opposite sides of the diamond
Coaching Points
- Creating space on reception
- Quality of pass, good technique - heel down toe up, ankle locked, hips facing target.
- Proper pace and direction
- Good receiving technique - receive ball in the direction you need to go to set up pass.
- First touch out of footprint.
