Description

Set-Up

  • 12 players, (6 blue, 6 red) 0 keepers
  • Supply of footballs,
  • Size of Area & Targets (4 small goals)
  • Balls are placed at either end of the pitch.
  • 1 x coach at either side of the pitch (Black)

On the lead coach's command, 2 x players from the blue team and 3 x red from the green team run from their halfway line, around the first small goal, and enter the pitch to compete in a 2 v 3 defending GRP with emphasis on Defensive Overload.  All blue players should have a turn of attacking and all red players should have a turn of defending until every player has played.  Once each player has been on the field, Play can then change to reds attacking and blues defending which will give the players a better understanding of the principles of defensive overload.
