Principle: REBUILD THE SHAPE TO DEFEND/PROTECT THE GOAL AFTER LOSING POSSESSION

Sub Principle: Rebuild the defensive structure behind the ball.

Sub-sub Principle: 8-9+GK behind the ball / 1-2 Attacker high on ball side.

3v3+4 (15 mins)

Organization: Field 22x30 

Instructions:

3v3 possession with 4 N. Players play with 2 touch max. Defending team wins possession they turn into possession team. 

15 passes = 1 point.
Win the ball and connect 5 passes = 1 point.  

4x 2:00min - 1:00min rest.  

Group 1:

N: Marcellus, Cristian, PJ, Eddie. | Black: Alex, Eli, Braden | Grey: Esti, Will, Joaquim.
Group 2: Ashton, Blake, Ryan D., AJ | Sy, Martin, Jimmy | Andres V. Andres C., Andrian.

Coaching Points:

- Rec. pressure on the ball (higher pressure = quicker decisions, lower pressure = hold to attract).

  Understand when to hold vs when to receive/connect. (depending on the pressure). 

- Players without the ball read pressure on the ball (timing to check) -> when pressure increases. 

- Understand build out structure / options. Angles to break pressure. 

Progressions:

- N 2 touch - players 1 touch.

- Minimum 2 touch for points.

FROM A BROKEN PRESS/TRANSITION MOMENT - HOW TO HANDLE!

Switch: Eli/Sy - Cristian/PJ/Blake - Andres C/Braden, Joaquim/Will.

Instructions:

HS can recover once FB or after the long ball the first pass is being connected. 

2x 7:30min - 2:30min rest (20:00min). 

Coaching Points:

1: Recognizing moment for WB to jump to FB (either to win vs delay). When in 1v1 STAY WITH HIM!

2: Recognizing CB moment to commit to winger if WB commits (work with WB/HS) when commit.

3: Recovery runs centrally in the field until organized shape to re-press (ques from before).
