Creating Space - improve decision making

Method:
7v7 squad practice
3 zones - defence zones have 2v1 overload for Defenders, middle zone is 3v3 plus 1
Player who passes or dribbles can move into next zone and drops back when transitioning
Score in any small goal, restart with defenders playing out
Objectives
Attackers - make the pitch big to create space,
Make decisions quickly as the ball is moving, pass right or left, open stance to receive the ball
Defenders - 1st defender to close down player on the ball, work as a unit - 2nd defender to cover
create individual space my movements in opposite direct to the ball -
receive ball open body stance, back foot, positive 1st touch in direction want to go
Communicate - in and out of possession - vocally, visually, with body movement
head up, aware, read the situation - decide pass or dribble

Method:
7v7, play out to CBs and wide to midfielders,
Play full width, half pitch
3 x 6 minute games
Play out to CBs from GK, play to wide midfielders
Coaching Points:
Attacking shape - create width and depth
Defending shape compact, and behind the ball
CBs receive open body on back foot to play forward and wide to wide midfielders
Communication, awareness - full backs read the situation
Movement - create individual space with movement in opposite direction of the ball
Decisions - where are the opposition, don't play into traffic
Look to make forward passes
