Two-touch box finishing10 mins

Player in the centre receives a pass from one of the four outer players, then has one-touch to set the ball before shooting. Cones allow striker to re-create game movement around a defender. Aim is to think about shot selection, shift-and-shoot.

Link-up play 3-110 mins

Aim is to get midfield three linking up with striker and providing a chance for the number 10 (marked here as '2'). Sequence: 1 passes to 2, 2 passes to 3 and returns, 2 then feeds 4 who lays it off for 2 to have a one-on-one with the 'keeper.

Rotation:

1 becomes 2

2 becomes 3

3 becomes 4

4 becomes 1

So that the next person shooting is player 1 and the last in this diagram would be 3.

Six-yard movement10 mins

Using the same layout but this time focusing on the number 9 (marked 4) movement in the box for a cut across the siz yard box. 2 initiates with a one-two then plays to 1 or 3 who run down the line to meet the ball. 4 has to then arc their run and call where they want the ball for 3 to cross and score.

Rotation of players occurs after around 5 attempts, again:

1 becomes 2

2 becomes 3

3 becomes 4

4 becomes 1
