Organisation:
Keep the 15 x 15 areas but now take out end zones and big goal. Put them into 2 teams. Place the teams opposite squares of the area.
- 2 sets of bibs
- balls on the side
- flat markers
- cones
Teams will now play a game involving 3 goals where they will listen to what colour cone the coach will call out and they then have to score and defend that colour cone.
Coaching Points:
Pressure - The closest player to the ball to put pressure on the attacking player in hopes to dispossess the attacker or make them make a mistake.
Cover - Defensive positioning that gives immediate support to the pressuring players by positioning themselves near the pressure.
Balance - Can the team can position themselves in a defensive shape that does not allow the switching of the ball to off-balance the defence but also not allowing opposition through.
Progressions/Regressions:
- If too hard will send in another ball or 2 goals to score in
- if too easy again add touch limit or time limits
Watch one of the teams and help with the passes, communicating when and what player should be able to go with the ball and what colour goal to defend.
If into team talks, join one team and discuss about spreading out and how it makes it harder for defender.

Also talk about if in possession then spread out and use the full box to make it harder for defending player.
