Combination Play Introduction

Players on ends are passers, players within the gride work off each other (like midfielders) with opposite checks in order to recieve the ball and switch it to the other side. After the ball is switched the middle players reset and work their opposite check-aways

Progression:

Ball is played back for a set pass and then long to opposite player

Ball is directly to player who has checked it into space, lays a set pass for other central player

Coaching Points:

Proper checks (create depth)

Recieve on the backfoot

check your shoulder before turning

2v2 Possession - Combination Play Emphasis

Players are assigned 2 v 2 inside the grid with supporting players outside the grid

Points are earned by working a combination play to "unlock" the other team

Switch after 2 minutes or after 5 points

Coaching Points:
