Training - Warm up (U13-U19) (10 mins)

Warm up Part I should be done before the training session starts. 


Part I - Rondo with target (8 min)

- Play 3v1+1 or 4v1+1 depending on numbers

- Goal is to have at least 5 passes, then find the target. Everyone but 1 player supports. Now play in the other direction

- Make the field big enough for the players on the outside to be able to be successful, but no so big the defender does not have a chance to win the ball

Part II - Dynamic Stretching (running) (7 min)

- 12 yards, two groups (one on each side of the cone)

- Do the following stretches twice

1) Jogging there, jogging back

2) But kicks there, jogging back

3) High knees there, jogging back

4) High kicks there, jogging back

5) Groin out (open the gate) there, Groin in (close the gate) back

6) Side shuffle facing each other there, Side shuffle facing each other back

7) Karaoke facing each other there, Karaoke facing each other back

8) Header, squad there, jogging back

9) Lunches with twist there, jogging back

10) Ickey shuffle forwards there, Ickey shuffle backwards back

11) 75% Sprint there, walk back

12) Sprint there, walk back

2v2 Continuos

Set up 2 goals + GKs

2v2 one team starts off with ball, soon as the ball goes out of bound thru end line, the attacking team who took the shot defends. Two new offensive players from opposing teams come on with a ball. 

Players in line be alert for your time to come on, we are working on quick transitions.

Finding thru Ball to Finish (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

- 2 x teams of 5 players. Depending on numbers and game play could add 1 neutral to help attacking team with possession and increase penetrating runs. 

-  All players, except goalkeepers, begin in middle zone and team in possession attempt to make 3 passes before playing pass into end zone. Attacking player must time run to run on and finish. 

- Player has 4 seconds to score and defending team cannot recover to begin with. Timing of runs as offside line is active when 3 passes are made.

*If not much success make 3 teams and have 1 rotating or 4 team, 2 Pitches

PROGRESSIONS:

- Allow recovering defender

- Create higher offside lines

- Manipulate overload

KEY MESSAGES/POINTS:

- Speed of play

- Players should look to play accurate and weighted passes quickly in order to combine and penetrate into the final third to create goal scoring opportunities.

 - Different combinations

- Team in possession to use wall passes, penetrating passes, 1-2's, overlaps, underlaps and switches of play to combine.

- Width and depth to make pitch big

- In possession, the team need movement and shape to unbalance the opposition and link up to combine, with support around, ahead and behind the ball.

5v5 with Outside Channel Cross (20 mins)

Instructions

Start with 5v5 players in middle zone: 1 player from team in possession is allowed to make a run into crossing channels A. 3 touch maximum on outside channels before cross. +3 points if you finish off a cross, +1 point for a normal play finish. 

Progression:

A. No defenders allowed into crossing Zone.

B. Allow defenders into Crossing zone on first touch.
