Function
following on from the skill practice on being compact we look to implement on what we praticed in a scenario where sky blues have to hold possession for 1 minute, in which the timer runs out on the blow of the coaches whistle they have another minute to score as many goals. Reds throughout the session will try to defend staying in their shape and look to win the ball back and counter through the 3 goals while trying not to concede in the 1minute frame. play will begin from coach always.

Technical Defending the Third (15 mins)
Technical Defensive unit
Organisation
This defending session is a technical practice that works paired defenders in
developing their individual and paired defending technique. With 1 goal protected
by a Goalkeeper and 2 Defenders, position 3 other players on each of the cones
as shown with a supply of 3/4 balls.
Each player must take it in turns to deliver a lofted pass or cross into the box for
players to clear. Work through all balls and rotate defensive players to repeat
practice.
