Pattern 1

The #2/3 get as wide as possible and push up in line with the midfield. #5/6 split to the width of the box. If they can't get on the ball they slide down in line with the penalty spot/6 yard box. First option is to play to #5/6. #4 starts high and drops in to the space to receive, this is the second option. This pass shouldn't be straight and the #4 can play wide or back immediately. Third option is to play directly to #2/3.

Pattern 2

#5 has the ball. They look to play wide to #2 or progress play through #4 who looks to play to #2/3. If #2 gets the ball #5/6/3 quickly get into compact shape. Once the ball is with #4 the attacking patterns can kick in.
