Rob Herringer, Coaches Bio:
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Herringer has been a United Soccer Coaches member since 2000. Herringer holds the United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, the Master Coach Diploma, a US Soccer “A” License and professional development certificates from federations and clubs in Scotland, England and The Netherlands. He is the 2023 recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Mike Berticelli Excellence in Coaching Education Award for his contributions as an educator and service to the game.
Herringer began his coaching experience as the head coach for boys and girls at Leavenworth (Kansas) High School. He also held positions as staff coach for Kansas Girls ODP, US Youth Soccer Region II Boys and head of the Kansas Boys ODP program. He has been Director of Coaching for the Leavenworth Soccer Association and Kansas Youth Soccer. In 2003, he was named the men’s coach at his alma mater Benedictine College, a position he held for 11 years before becoming the Executive Director of Elkhorn Soccer Club in Omaha, now the Elkhorn Athletic Association. In September of 2023, he was named Director of Coaching Education for United Soccer Coaches.

Session Organisation:
- 14 outfield players and 2 goalkeepers
- Approximately 24/30 yard grid divided into three equal channels.
- 1v1 in each of the 3 channels. with 4 floaters outside of the playing area.
- 1 goalkeeper in each gate.
Instructions:- Players must remain in their assigned channels, but they may pass to any teammate, inside and outside of the grid.
- Players on the outside of the grid are limited to two-touch.
- The object is for teams to play the ball to the goalkeeper stationed in the opposite gate.
- New balls start with goalkeepers.
- Play two, 3 minute games. Rotate players between games.
Progressions:- The first attackers may dribble into another channel, but a teammate must take their place (always 1v1 in each channel).
- Remove channels and allow players to move freely.
