FC Bayern Munich - passing drill by Pep Guardiola
Sequence 2
This is the same pattern and the same player movements with a slight variation.
When Player at B receives from Player at C, instead of passing to Player at D, they take a control touch and then reverse a through ball for Player at D to run onto
All players movements off the ball remain the same.

Sequence 1 (5 mins)
FC Bayern Munich - passing drill by Pep Guardiola
Sequence 1
Player at B make a movement beyond the mannequin and calls for the pass
Player at A passes a 1-2 with player B
Player at A then goes long to Player at C (again this player should make a movement across from one side of the cone to the other)
Player A then jogs to position B
The initial player at B then make the movement back beyond the mannequin and cone, ready to receive a pass from Player at C
Player at C passes to player at B
Player at B passes across to Player at D
Player at B then jogs to position C
The initial player at C moves back across the cone ready to receive from Player at D
Player at D plays a first time lay-off to Player at C, spins and then sprints down towards the goal.
Player at C plays a through Ball to player at D then jogs to position D
Player from D hits a first time shot to the goal, collects the ball and joins position A
The play above is shown on half a pitch, allowing a similar drill to operate .
After 5 minutes change direction to work on left foot finishes
Coaching points
1) Encourage communication of the receiving player to call for the pass
2) Work with the players on timing of their movements and when to drop off the cones. I call this "watching for the trigger pass". Usually this means players need to check / wait to start their movement i.e. the movement of player at C is when B is passing to A. Player at D waits till the trigger pass of C passing to B etc etc etc
3) Encourage players to take a step away from the intended move first (explain this is to help create the space by making a defender think they are going the other way)
