Organization:
Three even numbered teams, two goals with keepers, with the field set up into three zones.
Activity:
Team 1 will attack, Team 2 will defend, and Team 3 will wait. Team 1 attacks the goal and if Team 2 wins the ball, they attack Team 3. Teams may regroup in the middle zone. If attacking team scores, they maintain possession and attacks the third team.
Variations:
-Attacking team in the middle zone is allowed no time to gain there shape.
Coaching Points:
-Possession when the attack is not on.
-When possession is lost, transition into defense

Counter Attacking - 2v1 to 3v2's (25 mins)
Counter Attacking Drill - 2v1 to 3v2's - 15 Mins
Set up: 5 Yards wider than 18 yard box, 36 to 40 yard length
2 teams set up stand besides post of goals. Split half and half either side
2 Players come out from the attacking team (Red team), 1 defender comes out of defending team (Blue team), once ball goes dead from either a red team shot, ball goes out of play, or blue team shot, then 2 blues come onto the pitch to create a 3v2 in blue favour.
Drill resets after this but teams switch roles. 1 red defender comes out, with 2 blue attackers.
First team to so many goals wins (Time dependent - first to 10, 15, 20, ....)
Coaching Points:
Detail in Passing and receiving:
- Quality and Selection of pass (Disguise, Floated, etc.)
- Body shape / first touch / back foot
- Open up with first touch, checking shoulders before receiving
- Angles and distance of support
- Double Movements / where and when to receive the ball - come short or receive behind.
Counter-attacking Learning Objectives:
Attacking/Offensive
- Develop a clinical mindset in the final third.
- Develop Players pass detail; Focusing on line breaking passing placed in front of team mates
- Enhance players ability to combine using incisive one touch combinations to break out.
Defensive
- Strengthen Players ability to 'delay' the opposition
- Develop groups grasp on concept of 'cover'
- Ensure Opposition can't split the last defensive line
