Inside / Outside Cut/ Stepover

Organization:
- 4 cones in the middle of the area, 4 groups
- Each player has a ball
Instructions:
- On Coaches command, players dribble out to the cone, perform turn and return to their starting point.
- When they reach starting point the next person in line goes.
- Perform inside cut turn
- Perform outside cut turn.
Coaching Points:
- Close Control
- Head Up (check over shoulder to assess space and pressure)
- Accelerate after the turn
- Lower your body to give a better platform to accelerate
-Distance of touch (helps next action)
-Protecting the ball while dribbling
Progressions:
1. Make into a race with legs of inside & outside custs
2. Make into race allowing players to leverage turn of choice (Inside or Outside cut, Stepover, Pullback)
-Perfrom the correct technique for the Outside or Inside Cut turn:
Attacking the space forward on the field (looking to penetrate)
Identification of the space
Decision whether to keep going forward or turn based on pressure and space
Use of body, arms etc to fake
Direction of touch (based on next action)
Protecting the ball while dribbling
Use of arms to feel the defender

Organization:
- 25 x 12 yard area set up as shown
- Two mini goals facing away from play as shown
- Two teams of 3/4 players
- Lots of balls
Instructions:
- The defending player starts the activity by passing the ball into one of the attacking players
- The attacking player has the option to score in either goal
- The defending player must attempt to prevent the attacker from scoring
- If the defender wins the ball they attempt to score in one of the two goals
- The game is over when the ball leaves the area
- The next game is then started from the defending team
- Rotate players after a set time period
Coaching Points:
- Positive first touch
- Awareness of defender: pressure, distance etc
- Timing/Execution of turn.
- Visual Cue: can you unbalance Defender?
- Head up for next action
Progressions:
P - Attacking players have a time limit to score
R - Attacking players start with the ball

cone set up 10 yards from players
pugg net per team
Instructions:
first player in line dribbles up to cone and performs a turn( stepover, inside cut, outside cut, stop-turn, uturn, pull back, etc)
defender is released as soon as forward turns around the cone

- controlled touches
- use various turns
- put the your body between yourself and the player

Technical Review/Intro to turns (15 mins)
Instructions:
1. All players are reviewing ball mastery (foundation touches, toe taps, roll with sole of surface, standing stepovers, pullbacks).
2. All players are dribbling their soccer ball Messi (small) touches.
3. All players are dribbling and looking for gaps between other players to use Ronaldo (med) touches
4. Have players do stop-starts prior to using Ronaldo touch to accelerate into space.
Coaching Points:
1. Messi touches dribbling with our pinky toes
2. Ronaldo touches are medium touches, we get the ball into space so we can accellerate into space.
3. Include different dribbling speeds associated with Messi & Ronaldo touches (Turtle speed - slow, Cheetah speed - fast)
Progressions:
- Introduce and demonstrate Inside Cut & Outside Cut (New Turning Skill Introduce)
