Description

RED TEAM (Coached) 4-3-3 vs Blue Team (managed) 4-2-3-1

Red team - have the both FBs, the GK & the holding midfielder

Blue team - have the #10 AM removed & both wingers also

Specific Practice - 8v7

Specific Practice:

Frame Practice

Block 1: Start to introduce the coaching points for each individual RED players

Block 2: Introduce & create problem & introduce solution 1

Block 3: Introduce & create problem & introduce solution 2 & 'what if'

Primary intervention strategy: concurrent to allow for high balling rolling time

Secondary intervention strategy: coaching process to intervene and demonstrate

Problem 1: The Blue opposition frequently build and circulate the ball from one CB to the other, beating the strikers press, who then drives the ball into midfield

Solution 1: Red #9 is instructed to curve his run when pressing the CB on the ball to prevent the sideways passing option into the opposite side CB

Problem 2: when the Red striker presses the ball, the blue CB then looks up and play the ball into far side CM who has dropped in and bounced the ball into the far CB, beating the strikers press and allowing the far side Blue CB to drive into midfield

Solution 2: As the bounce pass is made into the far side CB, the now near side RED winger will cut the passing option to near side BLUE FB while applying pressure to the ball

The Blues organise into a 2 CBs in line with 6 yard box with the GK in the centre of the goal on the ball, #8 & 10 higher so they create space to drop into to lose their markers and get on the ball, both full-backs high and wide to create width and depth to the pitch but also to create to take the opposition wingers further away when the opposition are defending from the front. Lastly, Blue Striker starts high (instructions for the centre forward will be to start high and can drop but not below the bottom of the semi circle)

The Reds will defend from the front with 1 solo striker on the edge of the semi circle, 2 CMs both who are starting by marking the #8 & #10 CM from the inside shoulder while remaining south side of them. The 2 wingers will remain south side & diagonal of the 2 opposition full-backs so they are ready to press them while also remaining close to the near CM to protect the centre. CBs will have 1 CB going tight to the opposition striker and have the other CB going slightly behind them to cover him.

Problem & Solution 2

Specific Practice (15 Mins)

Each time the ball goes dead, it will restart with the Blues at a goal-kick scenario

If the reds win the ball in play, they will have 8 seconds to score

The Blues (managed) - organise into a 2 CBs in line with 6 yard box with the GK in the centre of the goal on the ball, #8 & 10 higher so they create space to drop into to lose their markers and get on the ball, both full-backs high and wide to create width and depth to the pitch but also to create to take the opposition wingers further away when the opposition are defending from the front. Lastly, Blue Striker starts high (instructions for the centre forward will be to start high and can drop but not below the bottom of the semi circle)

The Reds (coached) - will defend from the front with 1 solo striker on the edge of the semi circle, 2 CMs both who are starting by marking the #8 & #10 CM from the inside shoulder while remaining south side of them. The 2 wingers will remain south side & diagonal of the 2 opposition full-backs so they are ready to press them while also remaining close to the near CM to protect the centre. CBs will have 1 CB going tight to the opposition striker and have the other CB going slightly behind them to cover him. GK to sweep any long ball that go in behind and distribute fast into one of the CBs to build forwards
