-players are getting better at being the 1st attacker
-every player is being coached to have an attacking mentality when in possession of the ball
-the 2nd attacker role is one that needs a lot of work on this team
-as some still have the habit of when in a teammate is in possession of the ball they want to run parallel to that player or simply bomb up the field
-i spent a lot of time on basic technical positional movement when a 1st attacker has the ball
-hips aligned to the ball, finding an unbroken line, the type of body shape and communication
-i had to keep reinforcing this throughout the scrimmage

Organization
Instruction
1. attacking pairs of 2 will attempt to penetrate through the 2 zones
2. if they make it the second zone they must score a goal
3. if a defender wins the ball they must sore in pug goals
4. make it into a competition 1 point for penetrating a zone and 2 points for scoring a goal
5. after play breaks down attackers becoming defensive players

Organization
2 grids with pug goals
split players into 2 teams different colors
spare soccer balls
Instructions
1. player in possession must penetrate to goal
2. there will be 2 support players who are restricted to the wide area (they can go up and down) who can combine with middle player
3. if defender wins the ball the player can attempt to penetrate to 2 gates and also combine with the 2 support wide players
4. attacker becomes defender and rotate support players after a couple of rounds
Coaching Points
1st attacker – Penetration vs Possession
-Looking to penetrate as the first thought
-Head up to see 3rd line (player finding passing lane) and play vertical passes
-Patience in build up play if they cant penetrate then play sideways
-Do I play to feet or space? -
-Weight of pass to move defenders to create lanes
-Disguise of pass to play through the lines
-Isolate defenders using intelligent runs
-provide depth when not in possession of ball
2nd attacker (7/11)–
- Supporting angles to receive
-When to move - Recognition 1st attacker need support and early movement (as ball travels)
-Where to move (angle to receive). Deep or as wide as possible?
-Body shape technique to receive-
-Quality of touch (angle / distance – do I drive or play quickly?)
-Decision making where to play as the ball is moving
-make a run to open up passing lane to create space, 2v1 or 3v1
-first touch to explode into space
-demand ball
-3 options for penetration
1. maintain ball (short passes
2. play around the defensive block (find a wide player)
3. penetrating pass (killer pass through the defensive block)

Organization
split field in 2 channels
-4-6 players in each channel

Instructions
Stage 1
1. Player B starts in front of player C and runs into the middle (red
arrow shows movement) checks one way and then moves the
opposite way to the cone
2. Player A plays the pass into player B
3. Player C will say TURN! to player B
4. Player B now opens up and plays the pass into player C and
rotates to the opposite line he came from to now stand behind
player A
5. Player A will now run to the middle and start off a new rotation
receiving the ball from player C
Stage 2
1. Player B starts in front of player C and runs into the middle (red
arrow shows movement) checks one way and then opens up to a side
2. Player C will say MAN ON!/PLAYER ON to player B
3. Player A plays the pass into player B
4. Player B plays the ball back to player A into space weighted so player A can one time it to players C
5. Player B will rotate behind player A
6. Player A will now make a run into the center and start the process again but now starting from player C who has the ball from the last
