This session is designed to encourage players to play with their heads up whilst dribbling/RWB so they can see their environment better which will improve their awareness and ultimately their decision making.

Area:
Create a area 10m x 10m with cones, discs or poles.
Equipment:
balls, bibs, cones, discs or poles.
Objective:
Split side into 2 teams. The reds dribble arounf the inside of the area trying to avoid the blues. The blues objective is to touch the red players ball with their ball in hand. No throwing or bombing is allowed. They count up the amount oftimes they touch a red players ball. After desired duration the teams swap over. The winning team is the team with the most touches of the ball.
Progression:
Make the area smaller or increase the number of players in the same sized area.
Key points:
Role playing beig a meerkat checking your suuroundings for danger. Add technical detail to individuals during the activity. Coach hiding/shielding the balll, putting a barrier wall between player and ball. Use body strength and arms to protect the ball. Stay low, stixk your behind into the player, spread arms wide.

Area:
Create a square approx 10m x 10m with cones laid random inside. Put 4 squares in the 4 corners of the pitch.
Equipment:
Balls , cones and discs to mark out area.
Objective:
Split the players equally on to the 4 corners of the pitch. Each player dribbles through the centre square with the random cones and has to drbble to each corner square. They must return to the central square before going to another square. Once they have visited each square they retuen to their starting square. When the first player from any corner reaches the centrasl square the next player inline can set off. The winning team is the first team with all players back to their starting square.
Progression:
The players have a cone placed on thier heads (same as the arrival activity). If their cone falls off at any point they have to go back to the last corner square they visited before carrying on again.
Key points:
Ephasise the need for using periphial vision and use quick glances with the eyrs down and not bend the neck to look directly down.

Area:
Create an area with poles or different coloured discs, cones to the cones in the square. Size will be dictated on number of players but 5 in the middle would be 10m x 10m.
Equipment:
Cones, bibs, poles or discs & balls.
Objective:
Split the players in 2 teams. Reds in the middle. Each player with a ball dribbling trying to avoid the cones. The blues are on the outside with a ball each. The blues roll the ball underarm along the floor into the square trying to hit either a player on the ankles or hit their ball. Each time a hit is recorded it is added to the score tally. The reds have 5 mins to try and avoid being hit whilst dribbling and avoiding the red cones. After 5 mins the score is added up and the reds and blues swap roles for the next 5 mins. The winning team is the team with the lowest score.
Progression:
Make the cones in the middle active mines. If a player dribbles into a cone they incure a point.Add more cones in the middle or reduce the area.
Key Points:
Ephasise the need to look up and scan between touches.Manouver the ball away from danger.

Equipment:
Cones, bibs, poles or discs & balls.
Objective:
Split the players in 2 teams.Standard jailbreak game. Each player with a ball dribbling trying to avoid the cones.each coach will also roll a ball in to try and hit the ankles. If they dribble, hit a cone or are hit on the ankles they are in jail. If they dribble through without being hit or hitting a cone they take a shot at goal before the edge of the area (or marked line on astro). If they score they can relase a team mate from jail. If they miss they go to jail. The other team wins when all the players from one team are in jail.

Players play a match but the coach will have a ball and randomly roll the ball and try and hit a player on the legs. The player that is tagged must stand still like the game stuck in the mud. They get released buy a team mate passing the ball to their feet then they are free. If the group struggle with this then the task can be simplified by being freed with a high 5 by a team mate.
Key points:
Ephasise the need to be aware of your surroundings and costantly checking your area (be a Meerkat).

Arrival activity (10 mins)
Area:
Create a area 10m x 10m with cones, discs or poles.
Equipment:
balls, bibs, cones, discs or poles.
Objective:
create box 10m x 10m. Make the area smaller or increase the number of players in the same sized area. On arrival the players try and dribble through the small gates in the area trying to avoid bumping into each other. Encourage players to try and burst/accelerate out of gates into space. Challenge them to see how many gates they can get through in 30 seconds and repeat as required.
Progression:
Explain reasons for holding head up and have them try again with cone balanced on head for fun! if the look down too much then the cone will fall off. No holding on with hands.
