The objective of the session is to get the team working on midfield play. the idea is to draw players in centrally to create space out wide for our wingers and fullbacks to exploit. The final progression of the session is attacking focused but very similar to a game like situation. allowing them to understand the aims of the session.

Rondo practice focuses on players transitional play. The outside team of four (Pink Team) and a floating team of three (Yellow Team) aim to keep possession against four defenders (Green Team). 2 touch passing. The four pressing defenders must win the
ball back before two players attack the nearest goal against any single defender in a 2v1 the exercise restarts with the
team losing the ball now defending to regain possession.

The focus of this practice is on midfield rotations in a 4-3-3 during the build-up phase. The central midfield area is split into four squares with three players from each team in this central zone. The ball must pass through the central zone in the build-up play with one extra attacker able to enter to create a 4v3 overload.
An example could be our Centre-back driving centrally to break the opposition first defensive line, the striker can come back to receive behind the midfield line. Giving space for our midfields to move out wide and encouraging our fullbacks to come inside drawing pressure and creating space to attack in wide areas.

The focus of this session is to play between the lines, to break the defenses.
Start with a 3v2 possession area (Shaded Zone) with the objective to play a penetrating pass through to the attacking half. Once the midfielder has the ball they are looking to switched out play to either of the wide players. Opposition looking to apply pressure quickly and the winger looks for the opportunity to cross into the box for attackers to finish. If the defenders win possession they can attack centrally to score in either of the two mini goals.

To add variation allow the winger's to come inside and connect centrally this creates spaces for our overlapping fallback toexploit if opposition defenders get drawn inside. Allowing it to become open style of play when goal is scored either end greens defenders will start with the ball.
