5v2 Square Rondo
Dimension: 10x10
Duration:8-10 minutes
There is 1 player in the possession team on each side of the square. They are positioned on the outside but must still play within the area.
The 5 outside players aim to keep possession of the ball, using 1 and 2 touch.
The 2 inside players (blues) work together to try and close the angles and win the ball.
The player that loses the ball switches roles with the player that wins the ball.
Coaching Points:
*Body shape of players, scanning the field, checking shoulders, play in one/two touch with the proper foot
*Passing options are predetermined by the position of the ball and players shift according to the position of the ball
*CB's forward passing to break through the lines with split passes and angled split passes
*Move the opposition's defense
*Position players in between the lines
*Create gaps and passing lanes (triangles

4v4+3 Possession and Transition Game
Dimension: 16W x 20L
Duration: 8 minutes of work 2 minutes of rest x Two Rounds
Two teams of four players blue and green + 3 red jokers who play with the team in possession.
All four blue players are positioned on the long sides (2 on each side) and all the green players start inside the area. There is 1 red joker at each end and 1 joker inside.
The practice starts with the coach and the blue team try to maintain possession with the help of the 3 red jokers.
The green team works together pressing to close off the angles and try to win the ball back.
If the greens are able to win the ball, the teams switch roles.
The blues all move inside and work together to try and win the ball back immediately (counter press).
The greens move to the outsides and try to maintain possession with help from the 3 jokers.
Coaching Points:
*Body shape of players, scanning the field, checking shoulders, play in one/two touch with the proper foot
*Passing options are predetermined by the position of the ball and players shift according to the position of the ball
*Center backs forward passing to break through lines with vertical split passes and angled split passes

Objective: To advance the ball to break the first line of defensive pressure. The red team is scoring on the mini goals and the when the blue team wins possession of the ball they score attacking the large goal.
The GK passes to the CB who dribbles forward.
Coaching Points:
*Starting positions of players, body shape of players, speed of CB dribbling, CB first option is to score on the central or wide mini goals, CB second option is the DM or RB/LB. Third option is to play the pass back to the gk. These options are determined by the positioning of the blue high pressing defenders.

9 v 8 Building Up Play from the GK
Field Dimensions: 40W x 70L
Duration: 20 Minutes
Objective: The red GK starts the game with a pass. The red team scores a goal by playing a give and go or playing a thru pass to enter into the gray endzone. If the defending team blue wins possession they attempt to retain possession of the ball. Red must transition to defense and counterpressure to win the ball back immediately.
Coaching Points:
*GK reading of the defensive set-up
*CB reading of the defense while in possession
*CB breaking lines with vertical split passes and angled split passes
*CM's and Wingers playing in between the defensive lines
*Body and angles of support
*Timing of runs and actions to support the play
*Vision for passes
*Creation of triangles and diamonds when supporting the ball
