2 - 11 a side goal
9 vs 9 players including GKs + floater, floater plays for the team in possession.
Ball pits around area
Head coach - Coaching the blue side, defend the switch of play
Assistant coach - Managing the red team, looking to create problems for the blue to solve.
Red team to use the floater to put pressure on the blues to defend as a unit and not to brake there defensive shape as they are outnumbered, this will encourage the blue team to defend the space as a unit by staying narrow and compact
Reds team must use both wide areas in each attack to be able to score.
Blue team to stay compact and again defend 2 zones at all times leaving the furthest attacker on his own.
If blue team win the ball they will look to break lines, playing through, over or around them to try and score. Blues time will be monitored so as to gain the most out of the session of defending the switch, but for realism they will be allowed to try and score quickly.
For the first part of the practise when a goal is scored or the ball goes dead, play will start with the attacking teams (red) goalkeeper every time.
Progression.
Later in the practise when a ball is scored or the ball goes dead, the head coach will call which goalkeeper play starts from, this will at time allow the blue team to be more attacking and bring in some extra realism.
Head coach - blue team objectives.

Challenges, conditions and targets
Reds get 3 points for a goal.
Blues get 3 points for a goal and 1 point for every time they stop a switch of play.
Can the red team manage to switch play twice?
Limit players to touches they need not want to keep tempo higher.
Coaching position.
The head coach may start at position A and assistant at position B during the practise coaching positions will change and rotate so will also be in positions C & D.
This will obtain various angles to see the session, understand distances between players and to gather an all round feel for the practise.
The head coach may also enter the field of play to get another view of the game to offer concurrent feedback on both positive and negative things.

Explanation.
Head coach - Coach the blue team in defending the switch
Assistant coach - Manage the red team ( set problems for the blues to deal with, with the session principles in mind )
The red team are in possession and must switch from one zone to the other in every attack, they will look to score in either of the mini goals.
They must look to make the pitch big by maintaining width, exploit the space and ball speed is key.
When the blue team gain possession monitor there playing time to score a goal, maximising the time working on the session topic but not loosing the realism in the practice.
When a goal is scored or the ball go dead, either coach will serve a ball back in to play from random places, this will change the angle of approach and cause the blue teams different problems to solve.
Progression.
Limit the touches they need not want, this will help keep a good tempo
The blue teams objectives are to stop the red team from scoring
