Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): WFC 1st team. T-A

Passing

Ball starts with green player at one end - quickly combine and get it to the opposite green player. Once ball is played to the opposite green, he will play to the other team.

Game training

Play starts from a joker player receiving a bounce pass of a red 6/8, who then plays a ball over to either the 3/4 or GK who begin the attack.

Blue team must combine to try and score by playing a bounce pass of one of the green (joker) players and then drive over the halfway line.

Red must be instructed to try win the ball back and attempt to score as quickly as possible.

Once red win the ball, one joker player can be released from their area to join in the attack to create an over load on one side.

Red must try and make intelligent movement and incisive passing to create goal scoring chances after winning the ball back, or maintain controlled possession if they are unable to create a goal scoring chance.

Team Task:

This session is all about when have won the ball back in wide and/or attacking areas, can we make intelligent movement and incisive passes in order to create goal scoring chances.

Player Tasks:

9 – Can you take up a position in between the 3 & 4 where you could immediately receive the ball when we have won possession?

9 – Can you combine with others in front of the defensive line to get someone else in beyond the defensive line?

9 – If you do get in a position to score, can you immediately shoot or find someone else that can if your opportunity ends?

7 & 11 – Can you stretch the opposition defensive line and enable 9 to receive, or try and get on the ball yourself?

7 & 11 – Can you dribble and engage opposition 1v1 and beat them?

10 – Can you take up a position to occupy the opposition 6 and then break off to face forward to receive the ball?

10 – When you have the ball, if you can’t shoot, can you find a player who is able to receive and in a goal scoring position in beyond the defensive line?

6 & 8 – Whoever on the ball side, can you join in and become a passing option underneath the play with a view to playing forward if possible?

6 & 8 – Whoever is not on the ball side, can you maintain as a passing option alongside whilst maintaining a position to protect the passing option in to 9 should we lose the ball and enter defensive transition?
