Drill 2: Front Three Movement and Zone ProgressionIn this drill, players are divided into three teams. The objective is for each player to end up in a new zone after the ball is played into the goal. The front three attackers from each team work together, using off-the-ball movement, quick passing, and intelligent decision-making to progress the ball through different zones. Setup:
- Divide the players into 3 teams, Team A (3 attackers) and Team B (3 Attackers) and Team C (2 defenders+1GK). One player from Team c acts as the defender while the other player is the goalkeeper.
- The goal of Team A is to score goals against Team C within 15 seconds, while Team C aims to defend and prevent goals. If Team C steals the ball, they have 10 seconds to score a goal.
- There are different channels on the field, and each attacker must end up in a different channel from where they started.
- The drill consists of 3 rounds, each lasting 2 minutes.
Gameplay:
- Round 1:
- Team A starts with the front three attackers positioned in different channels.
- The designated defender from Team C without a goalkeeper defends against the attackers.
- Team A tries to score within 15 seconds using movement and combination play between the front three attackers. Each attacker must end up in a different channel from where they started.
- If Team C steals the ball, they have 10 seconds to score a goal.
- Round 2 and 3:
- After each round, the defender from Team C becomes the goalkeeper, and the goalkeeper becomes a defender. The next player in line passes the ball out and becomes the new defender, and the rotation continues.
- The attacking team quickly resets, and Team B (previously waiting) immediately starts the next round against the newly rotated defenders.
After Every 2 minutes played:
-Team A becomes the starting Defenders, allowing Team C to become the team waiting while Team B is the starting Attacking side

Here's a breakdown of the drill and some strategies you can use to create chaos within the defenders' backline:
Setup:
- Divide the players into two teams: Team A (3 players) and Team B (3 Players). There is also a neutral player and two goalkeepers who are positioned on the same side.
- The goal is for the first team to score 3 goals.
- The neutral player is positioned in the middle to create an overload for the attacking team.
Objective:
- The first team to score 3 goals wins the game.
- If Team A scores 3 goals, they continue on the field team, and Team B swaps with the goalkeepers and neutral players.
- If Team A scores but they have been able to transition the ball through each different Channel then they are awarded 3 goals and they win the round.
- The game lasts for 10 minutes, encouraging teams to use various attacking movements to create chaos within the defenders' backline.
Strategies to create chaos within the backline:
1. Movement and positioning: Encourage the attackers to constantly move and create space by making diagonal runs, overlapping runs, and swapping positions with teammates. This movement can confuse defenders and create gaps in the defense.
2. Utilize the neutral player: Instruct the attacking team to involve the neutral player actively. The neutral player can act as a link between the attackers, providing passing options, and creating numerical superiority in certain areas of the field.
3. Quick passing and combination play: Emphasize quick, one-touch passing and combination play between the attackers. This can disorient defenders and lead to quick attacking opportunities.
