Players:
16 players

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Set Up:
Players in half pitch area.
Balls and mini goals ready for the final phase (finishing from possession).
Organisation:
Total Duration: 15 minute
High Possession & Finishing Phase (15 min)
Start in opponent’s half (shape 3-2-3).
Build play to finishing zones.
On transition, shift to 2-2-4 attacking shape.
Encourage quick decision-making and accuracy in finishing.
Coaching Points:
Ensure players move with correct technique during dynamic stretching.
Emphasize explosive start, body alignment, and reaction speed in sprints.
Keep rhythm and control in agility drills.
During the finishing phase:
Quick transition after regaining possession.
Maintain width and depth when moving to 2-2-4.
Encourage combinations and accurate finishing.
Progressions:
Limit time to finish (e.g., 6–8 seconds after regaining possession).
Introduce defenders to create pressure during finishing.
Encourage quick recovery and reorganization if ball is lost.

Part 4 – Quick Decision Making in Possession (6v6 +4)
Theme: Finding fast solutions in possession under high pressure
Duration: 15 minutes
Area: 25 × 25 m grid
Players: 6v6 + 4 neutral players (2 inside + 2 outside)
Set Up:
Play in a 25×25 m square.
Two teams of 6 players compete to maintain possession.
Four neutral players (2 inside the area, 2 outside) always support the team in possession.
Continuous play — if defending team wins the ball, they instantly become the team in possession.
Organisation:
Warm Possession (3–5 min)
Free play to establish rhythm.
Encourage quick ball circulation and constant movement.
Limited Touches (5 min)
Restrict to 2-touch maximum to force scanning and anticipation.
Players must look for fast solutions under pressure.
Pressure + Transition (5 min)
Defending team presses aggressively to recover the ball.
Upon regaining, immediate transition to maintain possession and use neutrals.
Coaching Points:
Scan before receiving (head up every 2–3 seconds).
Correct body shape — open to see both sides.
First touch to move away from pressure.
Quick decision-making: play what you see, not what you hope.
Communication and awareness of neutral players’ positions.
After loss of possession → instant counter-press for 5 seconds.
Progressions:
Reduce neutrals from 4 → 2 to increase pressure.
Time limit: if a team keeps possession for 8 consecutive passes = 1 point.
Add directional targets (mini goals or end zones) to make possession purposeful.
Introduce scoring rule: goal counts only if attack starts within 3 passes after regaining ball.

Part 4 – Drawing Opponent & Finishing in Depth (15 min)
Theme: Attracting the opponent to press, then exploiting the space behind with pace and timing
Duration: 15 minutes
Area: Half pitch to full width
Players: 9v9 or 10v10 (including GK)
Shape: Starting from back line build-up
Set Up:
Team starts in possession from their defensive third.
Opponent positioned higher up the pitch to press.
Cones/mannequins used to mark defensive and midfield lines.
Fast wingers and strikers positioned to exploit depth behind opponent’s back line.
Organisation:
Phase 1 – Controlled Possession (3–5 min)
Ball circulation between defenders and midfielders.
Objective: attract the opponent to push higher.
Encourage short, patient build-up to create pressing triggers.
Phase 2 – Breaking the Line (5 min)
Once opponent commits forward, defenders or pivots play long vertical passes behind the defense.
Strikers and wingers time their runs to stay onside.
Emphasis on precision and communication between passer and runner.
Phase 3 – Finishing in Depth (5 min)
Quick attacking transition — 1v1 or 2v2 to goal.
Encourage use of speed, first touch into space, and composed finishing.
Restart from the back immediately after each attack.
Coaching Points:
Maintain compact defensive structure while in possession.
Use ball circulation to lure the opponent out of shape.
Recognize the right moment to play in depth.
Defenders: look for vertical or diagonal long passes once space opens.
Attackers: timing of runs and speed of execution are key.
Encourage finishing with minimal touches (one or two).
Progressions:
Add real pressing opposition to simulate game pressure.
Set rule: goal counts double if scored within 10 seconds of playing in depth.
Restrict touches for back line (e.g., 2-touch max) to increase tempo.
Encourage keeper involvement to switch play before the vertical pass.

Part 5 – Build-Up to Finishing (15 min)
Theme: Finishing from build-up play & exploiting space behind the defensive line
Duration: 15 minutes
Area: Half pitch to ¾ pitch
Players: 9 v 9 or 8 v 8 (with GK)
Shape: Starting in 3-2-3 → Attacking 2-2-4
Set Up:
Team begins building from the defensive line.
Opponent presses high to create realistic pressure.
Use cones or mannequins to mark defensive and midfield zones.
Target players positioned high between and behind opponent’s defensive line.
Organisation:
Phase 1 – Build-Up (3-5 min)
Start from GK or centre-back.
Create triangles to bypass first pressing line.
Encourage patience to attract the opponent higher.
Phase 2 – Vertical Penetration (5 min)
Once opponents are drawn in, defenders play vertical passes behind their line.
Timing of runs from wingers / forwards is key.
Focus on communication and vision of the defender delivering the pass.
Phase 3 – Finishing (5 min)
Attacker runs onto the ball and finishes 1v1 or 2v1 towards goal.
Quick recovery to restart from build-up again.
Coaching Points:
Encourage calm build-up under pressure (first touch & body position).
Centre-backs must attract the press before playing forward.
Midfielders support behind and between lines to open vertical lanes.
Forwards make timed diagonal / curved runs behind defenders.
Accurate weight and timing of the pass.
Finishing with composure — prefer one-touch when possible.
Progressions:
Introduce real opponents pressing aggressively.
Add numerical disadvantage (e.g., 8 v 9) to increase decision-making pressure.
Restrict touches for faster circulation.
Score double goals if the team finishes directly after a vertical pass (to reward correct behaviour).

Set Up
3–4 separate Rondo grids (10×10 m) placed in different areas of the pitch.
Each grid: 4 possession players vs 2 defenders (4v2).
Distance between grids: 15–20 m.
Whistle or signal every 30 seconds for group rotation between grids.
Total duration: 15 minutes (4 × 3 min work + short active breaks).
Organisation
Each team starts in one grid playing standard possession (4v2).
On the coach’s signal every 30 seconds, the whole group rotates to the next grid at high intensity.
Defenders are switched after each round.
Continue rotations throughout the 15-minute block.
Focus on maintaining tempo, decision-making, and coordination under fatigue.
Coaching Points
✅ Quick passing and immediate movement after the pass (follow your pass).
✅ Quality first touch and body orientation under pressure.
✅ Constant verbal and visual communication.
✅ Fast decision-making with accurate execution.
✅ Maintain team shape and spacing when rotating between grids.
✅ Sustain intensity — keep the tempo high without technical drop-off.
Progressions
Reduce rotation time from 30 s → 20 s to increase intensity.
Add a mandatory long pass to the next grid after 5 successful passes.
Increase defensive pressure (change to 4v3).
Introduce a second ball in selected grids for cognitive overload.
Allow defenders to chase and press in the next grid after each signal.
