This activity will improve your teams ability to press and win the ball back. Once the ball is one, they are able to play forward and start a counter.

- All restarts with the team of 5 (blue)
- In one half: team of 5 works to score on team of 4 (red).
- When team of 4 wins it, they look to play the 2v1 in other half.
- One player from team of 5 may recover to defend in other half.
- Play 2 min games an switch roles
Coaching Points:
*When team of 5 loses it:
- On the ball: 2 closest = ball-oriented forcing outside.
- Around the ball: tighly mark the next closest passing opportunities.
- If press is broken - delay for support!

Blue Team is the 9,10,8,7, and 11
Descritpion: Ball always starts with yellow support player, Blue team tries to press the ball as quickly as possible to win the ball back (closer to the goal they would be attacking) Imediate pressure pushing one way from the number 9. Closing of passing lanes and space out of the 10,8,11,and 7 depending on which way number 9 pushes play. Offsides apply.
Scoring: Blue
3pts for winning ball in attacking third and scoring
2 pts for winning ball in middle third and scoring
1 pt for winning ball in defensive third and scoring
Yellow team:
2 points if they can posses ball across opponents end line.
Coaching Points:
Encourage high pressing- to win ball in a higher third closer to the goal your attacking.
1st focus- number 9 putting pressure on the ball pushing play one way cutting off passing lane.
2nd focus- number 11 and 7 closing space to intercept passes or win ball. number 8 and 10 cutting of passing lanes and stop the attacking teams ability to switch the ball.
3rd focus- recovery runs to balance defensively.

Play will start at the top at midfield by neutral player. Defensive team will keep good defensive shape to win the ball to counter goal or pass to their target who is also the supporting player for the attacking team.
Focus is on shape and communication with teammates.

3v3 transition (15 mins)
Set Up: 25L x 30W 3v3 transition
Descritption: 3v3 game, when a goal is scored the player that scored must run around goal before they can get back and defend. The 3 players that got scored on go off the field the next 3 players come on with a new ball and attack opposite side. This creates a 3v2 situation until the 3rd defender recovers. If the ball leaves the field without a goal being scored then all 3 players from both teams go off and new players come on.
