Goal Scoring 1

Player A starts with the ball.

Player B starts on the red cone.

Player A passes to player B on the red cone. Player B passes it back to player A and makes a double lead up around the blue cone and then back toward goal on the outside of the yellow cone.

Player A passes it again to player B, this time just outside the yellow cone.

On the right side of the field player B receives forehand and lets the ball cross their body for a forehand shot near the top of the circle.

On the left side of the field player B receives with an upright reverse and has a forehand shot aiming far post.

***If your group is successful or really want to learn, they can attempt a backhand shot off of the forehand reception (on the right side of the field).

Short summary:

3 passes then a shot. The player shooting makes a double lead before receiving the last pass. Footwork and timing are important.

Goal Scoring 2

Player A passes a ball to player B. Player A then takes a second ball and dribbles into the circle for a shot on goal. Player A then repositions to receive a guard pass (90˚!) from player B and have a second shot.

Meanwhile, player B receives the pass from player A and dribbles along the cone line and then along the baseline. Player B then sends a guard pass to player A (must be 90˚).

After player A receives the guard pass from player B, player D may pass a third ball to player C. Player C receives the pass and plays a pass to player A who has repositioned for a post up. Player A then has a third shot on goal (preferably forehand).

Rotation goes A -> B -> C -> D -> A

**If you do not have enough players or it's breaking down, eliminate player D's involvement by putting a stack of balls at position C.

Short summary:

Player A will get 3 chances on goal. Second chance must come from a guard pass at 90˚. Player D must be engaged as they will send the third pass.

Ball Carrying 1

This is just a guideline. Change it to make it easier or harder as needed. Encourage players to go at the fastest speed at which they are able to successfully complete the circuit. Players can choose their own route through the minefield but must avoid hitting any of the cones. Encourage them not to just go along the outside of the minefield but to really get into it.

Ways to make it more challenging: add lifts or spins, add "punishment" for hitting cones, make it a time trial (get them to try to beat their own time)

Ball Carrying 2

Dribble to red cone and pull to blue. Make pulls really wide, emphasize big pulls outisde your body.

Strong, straing left arm and wristy for left hand carry - get the ball out in front of them and away from their body

Curl right or encourage them to try getting it in their hook for a spin

lift over the cones, encourage them not to stop the ball first but to use the momentum of a pull to lift it

backhand shot - start with backhand sweeps and progress to a hit if appropriate

Passing 1

Does't have to be a huge square. maybe 10-15m passes. Players should be able to pass through the gates. Encourage proper receptions!

You can make this a triangle if you have 6 players or just passing in partners if there are awkward numbers or the drill is breaking down.

You can make it more fun/challenging by making it a race, which team can get the ball all the way around twice first??

If it's going reeeeaaally well you can add a second ball in at cone C.

Progression:

- push passing

- slap passing

- passing off the right foot (on the run)

- sweep hits

- reverse sweep hits

- upright forehand hit

Passing 2

3 person weave. All 3 players start at their cones which are in a line. Player A sends to player B and the runs around the back of player B. Player B receives and cuts infield, then sends a pass to player C who has run forward with the play. Player C receives and cuts infield then plays a pass to player A.

- whoever receives the ball at the top of the circle shoots.

- encourage the players to keep the weave "tight" and not to drift too far.

- players can practice passing off the right foot like in the previous drill.

-Accurate passing is super important!!
