Objective: To improve players technical ability, dribbling control and fitness
Organization: Each player has a ball in their own individual 6x6 grid with a different color cone in th middle to represent starting place
Key Words: Dribble, look up, change of pace, accelerate, change of direction
Guided Questions: 1) In a grid of this size, what type of touches should be making? 2) How can you get more touches on the ball? 3) After pulling a move off, how should we dribble?
Answers: 1) It's asmaller grid, so we should be taking smaller an more controlled touches. 2) Play with head up to think of 1 or 2 steps ahead and keep ball closer to feet, unless changing pace. 3) After performing a move, change pace and act as if there is a def trying to close us down.
Dribbling progressions: 45 sec to 1 min rounds with 30 sec rest in between

Objective: To improve players ability to pass and receive while introducing competiton with another player
Organization: Two individual grids now become a pair to create the game "knock out", as seen above. 1 player will have a ball with the spare soccer ball close by. Player "A" passes the ball to "B", who then has three touches to receive the pass, take a set up touch and then pass the ball back to player "A". If the grids need to be moved closer due to too much space inbetween, while maintaining social distanciang guidelines, do so.
Key Words: look up, ankle locked, toe up
Guided Questions: 1) When passing the ball, do we want the ball to stop? 2) What can I do if the ball bounces off of my foot when I try to receive it?
Answers: 1) The ball rarely stops in a game, so lets train the same way as a game. Practice passing when the ball is moving to work on the proper mechanics. 2) When receiving, we want to have our toe up, ankle locked, knees bent and chest over our knees. Cushion the ball with your foot (practice using the inside, outside, laces, bottom)
Notes: Games can either go for time or first to a certain number of points
