Defending Corners to launch counter attack

Organisation

- 10 Yellows v 8 Blues

- Corners from both sides

- 2 mini goals just past half way

Activity

- Blues will start play with a corner and attempt to score past the GK

- Yellows must defend the corner and look to launch a counter attack

- Yellows try to score in 2 mini goals

Coaching Points

- 2 & 3 occupy front & back post depending on what side the corner is taken.

- 5, 6, 9 take up straight line positions with 6 being on penalty spot

- 8 covers the front of 6 yard box/ will also come out if short corner is made.

- 10 occupies edge of box and must prevent any shots from coming in

- 7 & 11 stay up high & wide (outlets)

Must Haves

- MUST have clear communication from all when defending the ball

- MUST have a challenge on ball

- MUST mark zonal and be responsible for their own zone

- MUST disperse quickly and clear to outlets
