Organization: 4 Teams of 3 players line up opposite inbetween 2 mini goals. On the coaches command or as soon as players infront cross the next player in line begins. Object is to approach each other using opposite player as an interference/defensive reference (A). The players perform particular skill ie scissors (please note players must perform same skill same direction initially right foot scissors left foot first touch away) finish left foot into left goal right foot into right goal , take ball from net and then join end of opposite line. The players must be in the shaded (marked with cones?) area beforethey can shoot forcing a dribble into the area.
Working skills in an unopposed situation but with a little pressure of traffic, with lots of repetition, working in both directions right and left alternatively. The end result is an opportunity to finish (game realsim skill to shoot).
Ask the players what other skills they could try? maradona, ronaldo chop, messi 2 touch, rainbow flick, elastico, flic flac, and let them try ask the person who gave the skill to demonstrate and then demonstrate if anyone is unsure at the back of the queue allowing ball to roll for rest of group. Then ask the players they can do whatever skill they choose in whatever direction they like, this forces them to dribble with eyes up to see opposite player otherwise they end up in a crash, but gives them freedom and creativity to try things.

Organization: 15x7 meter grid. As many as required.
Instructions: Player A passes to the receiver B. Receiver tries to get across the line 1v1. Passer must initially be passive just follow pass straight at attacker and should do so as soon as they pass the ball. Drill repeats at the same end until coach changes.Progression into defender becoming full pressure after passing to stop attacker crossing the line.
Attack starts from same end every time.
Coaching Points:
Attackers first touch speed/direction is it towards space or where you want it to go? Is it a soft first touch close if pressure is near or a live firm first touch out of feet into space.
Can attacker square defender up by running at front foot if not attacking the space with speed.
Can we use speed as first option, or if not can we use feints, fakes, turns and changes of speed and direction to unbalance or lose/confuse defender.
Recognise where defender is and where the space is.
Big Ronaldo touches in space, small Messi touches when pressure is near.

Practice Organisation:
*Two teams with a ball each, each player stood approx 14yds from the goal line.
*2 small goals 12yds apart, and a shooting line 6yds from the goals (you must be past this line to score).
*First player dribbles out and gets inside shooting zone (shaded area) to score.
*Once he has shot, he now becomes the defender against the other teams attacker.
*As soon as the player has entered the goal line the next attacker from the other team can go.
*The sequence continues with shooters defending, until a time limit is up or 1 team reaches a set score.
Progressions:
*Swap the side they attack from.
*Adjust the poistion of the goals to make harder (closer together) or easier (further apart).
Learning Objectives:
1. To improve decision making and use of speed to create goal scoring chances.
2. If space is in front of the attacker, do we attack qucikly?
3. If an opponent is in front of us, we may need to use a feint move to get into shooting zone.
4. Transition in ball turnover. (Attack to Defense).

Scrimmage, Observe with little or no intervention, let them play free, are there any of the skills techniques practiced in the session being used in the live scrimmage? Somtimes it may be necessary to stop the scrimmage, to ask if we would all group and chase around after the ball in one big mess in a travel match? usually (hopefully) the answer is no, then i'll give them 20 seconds or less to organise themselves into some sort of shape (their own decision on shape!), the first team ready to play then getthe ball for restart.
