Warmup Phase 1 (10 mins)

Objective:

Functional technical and physiological warm up

FLANK PLAYERS (pink)

Short-short-long passing rhythm
Start in tight and lengthen as players get warm

CENTRAL PLAYERS AND GKS

Free play passing
Shot into GKS hands

Warmup Phase 2 (10 mins)

Objective:

Functional technical and physiological warm up

FLANK PLAYERS and GKS

Combine and serve into GKs
Alternate sides
Driven NP balls
Bent slot (second six) service
Flighted far post service

CENTRAL PLAYERS

Transition possession
4v2 to 2
Play possession in central space
If 2 defenders win it they play to team mates in the other end and join
2 attackers become defenders and play 4v2 in other end

Crossing and Finishing Game (20 mins)

Crossing and Finishing

3v1 in each half of the field. When the goalkeeper is in possession they may choose to play the wide player in their defensive half or attacking half. If the wide player is played in the attacking half players are making runs in the box to get on the end of a cross. If the goalkeeper plays wide player in the defensive half they are looking to play a through ball into the attacking half, they may combine with GK/Defender to make this happen if needed.

Wide players can't be defended in the wide channel. If a field player regains possession they can transition directly to the attacking half (don't half to play wide).

All balls out of bounds starts with GK.

SEAM GAME

Endline Service Game

Setup:

6v6 + 2 inside the playing area
Attacking players (+2) in each "corner" of the playing area
Goal from the seam = 2
Goal from run of play = 1
Balls out of bounds start with GK
GK can distribute directly to the corner players

COACHING POINTSAttacking:

Movement to open and exploit spaces between defenders (seams)
Balls driven into seams

Defending:

Marking ball side/goal side
GK movement and communication
