Organization:
Same set up as previous activity but now the gates become triangles.
Set up 5-7 triangles with a player in each triangle. Majority of players are outside of the triangle with a ball.
Instructions:
Players with a soccer ball dribble through the area looking for a teammate in a triangle
Player A passes to Player B in the triangle.
Player B receives and takes the ball out one of the other 2 sides of the triangle then looks for another triangle + teammate. Player A then moves into the triangle.
Competition - Players get 1 point for every successful pass, first to 15 passes wins
Coaching Points:
Head up to find teammate
Proper passing technique (inside of the foot, correct weight of pass, accuracy)
Communication (Verbal & Visual).
Positioning in triangle to receive - set up to exit out different side than ball arrives in
Progressions:
1) Make the receiving touch a positive first touch outside the triangle.
2) Make triangles smaller - require better accuracy
3) Must receive with specific part of the foot - inside, outside
4) Add defenders. If defender wins the ball they get to pass the ball into triangles for points. The other player must steal someone else's ball.
