Area:

Third of tournament size 9v9 pitch.

Equipment:

cones,discs, poles, bibs, balls.

Objective:

Players split equaly on the 3 cones on each side of the attacking third. there are 2 defenders andf a goal keeper. One of the coaches feeds the ball to any of the three attacking players. The three players on the cones then attack the goal and try to score. The defenders can press and tackle. The ephasis is to attack at speed and be direct. Shooting S.O.S is encouraged however, if a team mate is open and the player is shhoting from a difficult angle then reply to encourage good deciision making. Also replay for instances when players pass whena good shooting opppotunity has arisen. If players slow the playor go back on themselves count down 3-2-1 for them to relase the pass or shoot. Once the ball is out of playfeed the next 3 so the defenders are out of position which should allow to exploit the overload. After 3 or 5 cycles change the defenders.

Key points:

S.O.S (shoot on sight), use space to stretch defenders. get the ball in early. try one touch finish. Be alert and attack with speed when defenders are out of position.
