3rd CoE session in a series of ball mastery and dribbling exercises

Gates:
1.) One group sets up in the grid while the other group works on individual ball skill of coach's choice
2.) When coach says go the players in the grid have 1 minute to get through as many gates as possible. They must get through all the gates before going through the same gate twice.
3.) Switch teams in and out
4.) Players should be keeping score, add individual totals up for a team total and get a winner.
Coaching Points:
Attack open space (find a gate that is open)
Pick head up while dribbling to recognize open space
Use speed dribbling technique (toe down, contact with laces, body leaning forward, touch ball every step or every other step
Accelerate away from gate after going through

Gates 2
1.)Same premise as the first gates exercise but now 2 defenders are added
2.)Players look to attack open space when possible but will need to engage and beat defenders during some point. If defenders win the ball they leave it and find a different attacker to defend
3.)Switch attacking team after 1 minute, switch defenders the next time around. Keep score.
Progression:
Add another defender if attackers are easily successful or make the space smaller
Coaching points
Attack defenders at speed (quickly)
Accelerate after defender is beat
Utilize roll, scissors, or other moves we have been working on
