Technique - BLP

(6:55 pm till 7:10 pm) Technique = One-touch technique to BLP through the gates. Passing rotation; (A) to (B) - (B) to (C) - (C) sets for (B) who plays BLP through the gates. Repeat at the opposite end. Go one way on the right foot then go the opposite way on the left foot. 

Coaching Point = (1) Detail of pass to allow receiving player to BLP with one-touch (2) Ball Striking, using different techniques/parts of the foot to strike the ball

Possession - 5v2 (20 mins)

(7:10 pm till 7:35 pm) Possession - Target Players (2v2 or whatever numbers we have) = Two teams looking to play forward into their directional 'Target Player' One team going one way, the other going the other direction. 'Target Player' players can move up and down the side to create an angle. 'Target Player' play 2 touches (but not required)

Progression = 'Target Players' can drive in with the first touch and be replaced by a player in the middle. 

Coaching Points - (1) Knowing when to play break line pass (BLP) or keep possession to disorganize, probe, create an opportunity to BLP. (2) Movement off the ball to create an opportunity to BLP (3) Detail of pass to allow receiving player to BLP/keep possession. 

Guided Questions - (1) How do you when BLP is on, what does this look like? (2) How can your movement (player off the ball) help your teammate to BLP (3) How can your body angle help you to receive the ball and play positively (4) If you notice that your teammate can play a BLP, what type of pass do they need to enable them to do this?
