Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Shooting: Team II

Main Theme (20 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 field set up as shown

2. One ball for each player

3. Two teams with equal numbers

Instructions:

1. Player one from each team dribbles towards, around and through the gate

2. Once through the gate, player has two touches to shoot on goal. One touch to set self up, second touch to shoot ball

3. After shot has been taken, player must then run to team's corner. Once there the next player in line can begin their turn.

4. Rotation continues until each player has shot ball

5. Player receive one point for each goal scored, the team the finishes first gets a bonus point.

6. Three rounds with right foot, three rounds with left foot

Coaching Points:

1. Angle of approach is off center 

2. Head up to observe position of goal keeper 

3. Head down at the point of contact 

4. Contact foot – Lace 

5. Follow through landing on striking foot

 Progressions:

R - Allow more touches after passing through gate

P - Add defender
