A dribbles up and around the cone and then passes to B, who passes to C, C then goes 4V4+1 with green. Rotate left and right side after 4 reps.
Green starts with the ball after 8 reps.
Attacking Team Focus on-
- Attacking with speed
- Change of direction/skill
- Stay facing forward
- Turning away from pressure and putting yourself between the ball and the defender
- Firm passess to feet
- Second, third action movement after the pass
Defensive Team Focus on:
GREEN: Press the LW/RW as the ball travels
RED: Let them possess, once they ball is played to the LB/RB press to force inside, dont press the CB. Keep the middle compact. If the CB dribbles into the midfield space, 9 step, 10 drop behind, 7/11 tuck inside and let them go wide.

You are locked to your zone
Blue must stay in there own zone and defend either the small goals or the zones
Focus on -
- Be patient
- Shift side to side to close gaps
- Get a shape with higher pressure, lower pressure, Hold our line and force central
- Anticipate the pass or shot

Line of confrontation is set. Defending group (red in image) lets green move the ball as much as they want in there defensive third. If green trys to squeeze pass into the middle, red looks to step and win the ball. If they win the ball can we play a forward pass right away, if not we possess.
Wingers dont cheat out wide. As the ball travels side to side shift.

Defending in a 4-2-3-1
We keep dropping to the line of confrontation, and no deeper then the restraint line. Once they hit this line, we start pressing. Goal is to take away space behind and get compact.
Once attacking team hits the line we engage and squeeze middle.
Stay compact behind ball.
As ball goes wide, we force back in centrally to our #'s
When we win the ball, our first objective is to play a forward pass, link up with the 9, underneith to the 10 and out to 7/11 or straight in behind to the space
Get numbers into the attacking 1/2
If we lose the ball on the attack, the closets player to the ball presses, remaining team recovers behind our line of confrontation.
Max 8-10 yards apart from each other.
