Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
1/2 pitch set-up
3 blocks of 4 minutes for the practice with 1 minute terminal stops for coaching/recovery
REDs principles
stay compact
limit box entries of team in possession
force play wide
force play back
Aim for RED team is to limit opportunities for BLUEs to play into yellow bibbed number 10. BLUE team have to play through BLUE number 10 before getting a shot at goal.
RED CDMs will look to screen any opps to play into 10 & for 10 to play balls through to break back line. RED team will look to force play wide and then back to half way line.

PROBLEMS
1)10 dropping deeper to get on the ball and is replaced by a BLUE CM -
automatically the player on the ball if they are in an advanced position is the danger. protect the area centrally and force play wide and then back towards half way line. If the 10 moves deeper - RED 10 will apply pressure and screen any opportunity to play centrally. 2 RED CDMs will remain compact and minimise any opportunity to play into the two central box areas. RB/LB will remain inside the line of the penalty area and force the play wider.
2) Blues advance a CM to play as a 2nd NUMBER 10 and the yellow 10 plays in half space between RB/CB and other number 10 plays between CB/LB.
REDS still remain compact - RB CB CB LB are setup between 6 yard-penalty area in with on both sides and push up by 5 yards to start above the edge of the D of penalty area.
REDs look to minimise the space further with 2 CDM staying within 10 yards of the back 4 and RED 10 sitting at the top of a block pattern to push the options to playing out wide.

Set-Up
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
RED TEAM (coached - OOP to stop number 10) - KEEPER; 4-2-1
BLUE TEAM (Oppo) 1-2-3-1
Play starts at centre circle with the ball fed into BLUE CB who plays the ball either into midfield or wide to LW/RW.
BLUE team look to build up play to provide an opportunity to strike at goal. The only CONDITION for the BLUE team is that they must try to play through the yellow (bibbed yellow) number #10 before getting a shot away. REDs must limit all entries with the ball into the box in front of the penalty area and the penalty area itself.
REGRESSIONS -
Ball can be played through any BLUE player before getting a shot away at goal.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
CHALLENGES - "can we limit the team to 1 pass per block into the number 10. "Can we stop all passes into the box in front of the penalty area"
Conditions - BLUE must pass through the number 10 to score a goal.
Target - BLUES - score in full size goal past keeper
REDS - regain possession and score in mini goals on half way line.
