Description

- MAIN FOCUS: Getting the players back into the rhythm of things with thier techncial ability on attacking with the ball & developing the attacking mentality.

ACTIVITY FOCUS:

Each activtiy will have thier reps & time. Make sure each activity players are performed at a high instensity level with good quality.

Introduction of Tactical Terms in 4v4+1:

- Depth (Ability to support/stretch in behind) "Centeback"

- Width (Ability to stretch/high wide) Outlet for switch of play "WIDE PLAYERS"

- Support: Movement recognition of pockets/windows - Spaces in between Defenders "Center MID"

FIFA 11+ - WARM UP (15 mins)

Organization:

-Cones placed 5 meters a part for a total of 20 meters with 4 cones placed on each side of the grid 3 meters from the interior cones

-Movements at 50 %,increase load/% as you progress

-Movements will be done 2x each, except jog (3x) and accelerations (2x)

Continuous Movement (Phase 1)

-Jog

-Jog/back-peddle alternating

-High knees

-Butt kicks

-Shuffling

-Karaoke

-Wrap Around

Dynamic movements (Phase 2)

-A Skip

-B Skip

-Open the gate

Rondo - 3v1 (10 mins)

Organization:

1. 7x7 grid size.

2. 3v1.

3. Plenty of balls.

Instructions:

1. Players will be involved in a 3 v 1 rondo activity.

2. Objective: Possess/retain away from defender.

3. If players complete 10 passes on a row without losing possession, central player stays in.

3. Dynamic Stretches will included during the warm up.

Coaching Points:

1. Technical sharpness

2. Accuracy & Pace of pass.

3. Supporting player on the ball (correct angles & passing lanes)

Progressions:

1. Must take 2 Touches.

Technical Repetition - Dribbling 1v1 Skills (10 mins)

Organization:

- 18yds (Length) 8yds (Distance between the Flags)

- 3 or 4 Players Per Station.

Instructions:

TWO REP (BOTH FEET L/R FOOT): 2 MINUTES & 30 SECOND REST IN BETWEEN

- Players will dribble slighty to the outside of the flag and perform a Skill move. Once completed, player will pass the ball to next player at the opposite side.

- Dribbling (Inside/Outside) Both Feet (LEFT/RIGHT FOOT)

- V Move (LEFT/RIGHT FOOT)

Coaching Points:

1. Quality of the Skill Move (Focus on that)

2. Ability to have Close Control (Small Touches on the ball)

3. Clean & Sharpnesses of the skill move.

4. GAME SPEED (CAN WE PERFORM IT AT GAME SPEED?)

ATT. Skills 1v1 - Single Sisscors/Fient (10 mins)

Organization:

- 18YDS (Length) & 22YDS (WIDTH)

- 12 Yards Distance from the Cone located at the center

Instructions:

TWO REPS EACH SKILL/FOOT - 2:00 Minutes & 30 Second Rest in Between.

1. Players will dribble to the cone and perform the attacking skills (Single Sisscors/Fient)

2. Both Attacking Skills will be performed with the LEFT/RIGHT FOOT.

Coaching Points:

1. Close Control (Small Touches on the approach to retain)

2. Ability to maintain a good quality on executing the skill move

3. Ability to attack at game speed at the approach and after executing- CAN WE ATTACK AT GAME SPEED? CLEAN & SHARPNESS

IMPORTANT AREA: Focus on the second touch after executing the skill move - Make sure to take a touch inside to close off the defenders recovering lane to regain ball.

1v1 Attacking Game (10 mins)

Organization:

1. Group of Players.

2. Stack of Balls.

3. Full size net.

4. Size: 25x20

5. 3 Yards Gate

Instructions:

1. Group of players will be stationed by each net.

2. Player 1 will step to attack the space.

3. P2 comes out as a defender to deny the space.

4. Once completed, the activity concept will repeat continously with P1.

Competition:

1: 4 Sets of 2:00 min rounds - The team with the most goals wins!

2. 30 Second Rest In Between

Coaching Points:

1. Recongition of applying the 1st attacking principle role - Penetrate.

2. Close control while attacking the space in speed (Agressive).

3. Improvisation/Creativity - Ability to take players on in 1v1.

4. Transition Mentalitly - Quick reaction to attack the space.

Organization:

1. Set up as shown (30x40yds)

2. 8-9 players

3. Four goals.

Instructions:

1. Players play 4v4+1.

2. 3 touch max.

3. High Pressure Defending.

Coaching Points:

1. Play short 1 touch passes to draw the defense in, then switch the point of attack.

2. After switch is made, move to support the new point of attack.

3. Ability to provide depth by CB. Ability to provide width and proper angles of support by Wide players.

4. High Pressure defending to improve speed of play.
