Key Coaching Points
Dribbling and Running with the Ball
(1) Touch / guide the ball with laces when dribbling (natural running movement for foot).
(2) Look up while dribble to see space, defenders, teammates, and the goal.
(3) Use all parts of the foot to manipulate the ball. Inside (chop), outside (hook), and sole (pull-back) to change direction.
Marking
(1) Find a check and stay with them.
(2) Be between your check and the goal.
(3) Go to put pressure on the ball.
Key Organization
(1) Coaches working in pairs, one coach set-up cones while the other coach leads the arrival activity and activation activity.
(2) Keep all the soccer balls with coaches. Have the players return the balls to a designated area.
(3) Only speak to the group when you have everyone attention. Do not let players not pay attention when coaches are speaking.

Organization: As players arrive they begin to play in games. If there is one play, that individual can play against a coach. As more players arrive add them to the game. If the game gets to big you can play another game in that field or a separate field. Allow players to mix teams until teams are ready to begin practice.
Objective: Players to be engaged as soon as they arrive. Players to be given freedom to play how they want.
Competition: Players can play against their peers or against a or coach. Games should not be bigger than 3V3.

Organization: Begin without a ball. Players, in pairs play tag. Play against your partner only. Play 30-45 second rounds and switch partners.
Progression: Play tag with a soccer ball, one ball per pair. (1) To tag your partner you must touch the ball with your foot. The player who does not have the ball is it. If the ball is tagged switch roles. (2) To tag your partner you must steal the soccer ball from your partner. If the ball is stolen switch roles. Continue to switch partner after 30-45 seconds.
Objectives: Players dribble with pace, keeping close control of the ball.
Competition: When grouping players put the winners against winners.

Organization: Coaches always start with the ball. One team is always attacking and one team is always defending. Have the players enter field, the attacker must move to get open and the defender has to move to stop the attacker from receiving a pass. Always pass the ball in within 5-seconds. If the defender is marking well simply pass the ball into space on the safe side of the attacker. If the defender wins the ball can they dribble into the endzone on the opposite end of the field.
Objective: Defender to stay goal side and close to their check. Goal side is between your check and goal.
Competition: Players get a point each time they score a goal. See which player can get 5-points first.

Organization: Even game. All the soccer balls with the coach. For five minutes the coach always passes into the same team. Each time the ball goes out of bounds or in the goal the red teams tries to get open for a pass from coach. The blue team must try to mark the reds to stop the pass coming in. After fine minutes change which team the coach is passing to.
Objectives: Players to understand when it is the oppositions ball to mark a player.
Regression: You can put the players in partners so it is easier for them to know who to make. Always mark your partner.
Competition: Team with the most goals wins.
