Attacking the Space

10 v 5

Objective is to get the ball out to wide players and encourage them to make decision ‘do I cross or drive forward to try and score?’ 

Pressing 5: 

Win the ball back as quickly as possible and try to score in the small goals.

  • Attack the ball together.
  • 5 players must press the 10 players 
  • If the 5 win it the 10 transition to regain the ball.
  • 5 win it they have to try and score into the mini goals.
  • These players may need switching due to fatigue. 

The 10 Players: Focus on these. 

Build to penetrate the back line 1v1 with GK or 2v1, 3v2.

Focus on defensive transition, 

how do we get the ball out wide without giving away possession? 

positional play 

vertical penetration.

10 players - 10 passes equals a goal
Or after 5 passes the ball can be played in behind for a player to go 1v1 with the GK

Progression

The ball has to go from right to left to be able to go in behind for example.
