Overview:
Topic: 1v1 Defending
Age: U11
Ability: Basic/Cognitive
Number of players: 8
Learning Objectives:
Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Traditional Practice Layout (Technique, Skill, SSG) for U11 level players with basic/cognitive ability of playing football
Transitions mentioned in session descriptions
Technical Coaching Style:
Autocratic: Will be used in the technical session to give players certain instructions to follow and give little player freedom. This is classed as a more dictatorial way of coaching, described as 'coach-led' (Brooks, 2022)
Skill Coaching Style:
Democratic: Will be used in the skill session to give players more creativity in their decision making, particularly against an opposition. This allows players to find solutions to their own problems and 'explore through play' (Brooks, 2022)
SSG Coaching Style:
Laissez-Faire: Will be used in the SSG. This is more of a hands off approach which allows players freedom in their decisions and movements. Coaches are able to intervene at any moment if the opportunity arises. (Chapman, 2015)

The drill ends once a goal has been scored, players run out of time or the ball has gone out of play
Players will return to the same station once finished.
Players at station 1 will dribble first, meaning the player at station 3 will defend. The drill will then continue going clockwise.
